General Shelters of Texas, Ltd. Honored

AUSTIN - General Shelters of Texas, Ltd. (General Shelters) in Center received the Employer Award of Excellence for the Workforce Solutions Deep East Texas area at the Texas Workforce Commission's (TWC) 13th Annual Texas Workforce Conference held December 2-4 in Grapevine. The award honors an employer that is actively involved with Texas Workforce Solutions and has made a positive impact on employers, workers and the community.

General Shelters has become the largest portable building manufacturer in Texas. This employer has a long history of community involvement, dedication to its employees, and commitment to the economic strength of the community. With an annual payroll of $3.5 million, General Shelters employs nearly 100 workers, who receive excellent benefits. The company relies on the Workforce Solutions Deep East Texas staff to conduct job fairs, post job orders, and screen applicants; this allows the company to quickly fill any job vacancies with qualified new hires.
